Godfather manager Francis Ford Coppola made the scathing remarks defending Martin Scorsese who said the superhero films are "not cinema".

Director Francis Ford Coppola has waded into the controversy caused by Martin Scorsese when the latter chosen Marvel movies and the similar, "non cinema."
Coppola appears to agree with the 76-yr-old director of The Irishmen and fifty-fifty went a stride farther when he called the superhero movies "despicable".

Coppola said: "When Martin Scorsese says that the Curiosity pictures are not cinema, he's right considering we expect to larn something from cinema, we expect to proceeds something, some enlightenment, some knowledge, some inspiration…I don't know that anyone gets anything out of seeing the same film over and over once more."
The 80-year-onetime filmmaker added: "Martin was kind when he said it's not cinema. He didn't say it's despicable, which I just say it is."

Marvel fans did not take the criticism lightly. Comments started flooding social media with one fan taking to Twitter to say: "I recall I'd rather sentry another Curiosity movie than another Francis Ford Coppola moving-picture show at this point. At least Curiosity movies have characters worth celebrating. I hate (these) old men directors who think movies should all be of 1 tone and style."
Scorsese had offered his stance on Curiosity movies before this month in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter where he revealed that he had tried to sentry the films just could not because they're "not cinema". He also likened them to a "theme park" and said, "It isn't the cinema of homo beings trying to convey emotional, psychological experiences to another human beingness."
