Why Cant I Upload Data Using Chirp
k6whp
I checked the previous letters (perfunctorily) and did not come across a direct answer to this question so my apologies for whatever repetition. In attempting to modify a code plug (add together frequencies) to my FT60R, I thought I'd requite Chirp a whirl.
It read the information from the radio accurately and without incident. However, when I attempted to write the data back out to the radio, the dialog comes upwards with the vendor and model edit boxes disabled. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks in advance!

Did you actually endeavor to write back to the radio? While the boxes may have been grayed out, did they even so bear witness the FT-60 in the box?

Information technology read the data from the radio accurately and without incident. Yet, when I attempted to write the data dorsum out to the radio, the dialog comes upward with the vendor and model edit boxes disabled. Whatsoever suggestions or ideas?

Hi
When. I upgraded to win10, I could not utilise CHIRP anymore.
I had the error you describe and others non recognizing port.
I tried different cords. Nope.
Some folks said I needed to go back to older drivers and others said I had to become newest drivers.
Thinking I will next try a new computer that started with win10 and was not an upgraded one.
If I become it to work I will post the solution.

This is my typical Chirp workflow:
- Read current settings from rig (requires setting COM port, make, model).
- Annal "before" config for later utilise.
- Make necessary changes to config.
- Archive "after" config for subsequently use.
- Write updated settings to rig (Chirp already knows rig, options to select make, model disabled).
If yous create a new tab from scratch, without first reading from the rig, you'll need to select the make, model before saving information technology.

Scroll your drivers dorsum to Prolific 3.2.0.0., if yous have a Prolific chipped cable. Should work fine, then.

Jawdy has information technology right. Roll back the drivers to 3.ii.0.0 is the key. Win10 is the devil and by trying to "assistance" you with a commuter update, it breaks CHIRP.

Folks,
Firstly, a Merry Christmas and all-time wishes for a happy new year to all and thank you all for your advice! Note that I believe this to be an idiosyncrasy of the software and not a driver problem My description was perhaps too brief. Permit me enlarge on the circumstances.
The symptom I was reporting was that the "the upload to radio" dialog came up with the Vendor and Model edit boxes coming upwardly disabled and for some reason the "OK" button was disabled also. In picayune with the software this morning, it allowed me to click OK which sent me to the upload teaching dialog. Post-obit instructions, I dutifully clicked through it, got the radio into "CLONE" manner, and pressed the "MON" push whereupon the software reported a communication fault. This was done several times without success.
I posted a series of pictures on my blog that show what I am talking about.

Let's go out it at this: it'southward a wonderful piece of freeware merely I am non before long tending to track down and resolve why it will non write to my FT60R. I do not plan on rolling dorsum any drivers, install any operating system patches or get any new cables. The main reason is that I already have Bob Freeth'southward marvelous programs for each of the Yaesu radio types I ain (an FT60R, two VX-150s, an FT7900, an FT2900, and an FT-817) and they piece of work flawlessly.
Were I non so bountifully appointed, I would pursue a resolution more diligently.
My sincere thanks to 1 and all!

Go the RT Systems programming software and cablevision.
No need to purchase the RT system There is two ways to upload the Ft sixty into chirp, look in the chirp help file as information technology explain both options, equally I had the aforementioned consequence.

My solution to getting Chirp to piece of work with my three FT-lx's was to get a amend cable. I purchased a cable which used an FTDI scrap rather than a Prolific chip for the USB to serial conversion. I haven't had any bug since. The cable I'm using is sourced from KJ6ZWL via Amazon (https://world wide web.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FP53ZWE). His company name on Amazon & eBay is "Bluemax49ers". I've purchased several cables from him and not been disappointed.
